Excel Tips - Tip 16 (Using Calculating Rebate u/s 87A and Round off)

Hello,

Here is the Sixteenth tip for you. Hope this help you.

This is in continuation with the last (Fifteenth) Tip.

Using IF Command is very easy and effective. In many cases we have to give multiple IF Command for a single outcome (Best example for Multiple IF command is Income Tax Slab). Keeping the month of Income tax return in mind, I am hereby using the same example for explaining Multiple IF Command for calculating Rebate u/s 87A.

Also for we need to round off the tax payable in the nearest hundred, so formulae for the same.

Hope it will help you in ease your work.

Calculating Rebate u/s 87A of Income Tax Act through IF Command and rounding off the numbers through Round formulae.

Points to remember while using Round Command

1. number- Can be a value or a cell reference of the values/ cells that you need to round off

2. num_digits - The number of digits to which you want to round the number. Eg. 2 would mean round off to two decimal places, while -2 will mean round off to nearest hundreds.
